What is the American Archive Content Inventory Project?

The Content Inventory Project (CIP) is the next step in CPB’s commitment to locate and inventory valuable programming produced by public radio and television stations that is at risk of being lost. The aim of the project is to locate, identify and inventory public media materials nationwide so that, in the near future, they may be preserved, digitized and made available to the public once again. This project will establish inventory parameters, policies and criteria that will support an effective and comprehensive inventory process for all public media content holders and providers.
